CET Arena Cultural Heritage
Graphic design for cultural heritage storytelling panels at the new Central Energy Trust Arena plaza (entrance).
Working alongside Lily Frederikse and Local (landscape architecture collective) for PNCC, we developed a visual system that worked in harmony with the new Palmy branding. The graphic work needed to be super legible, allow for varying content amounts and be completely bilingual.
We produced ten large banners, 21 story tabs, 11 sandblasted quotes, and some fun line work for the pits.
Work completed March 2021. Officially opened April 2021.
Content relating to the Arena’s historical and contemporary use is displayed throughout the Plaza. The quotes, story tabs and history panels are arranged so they relate throughout the space. The content honours the past through prominent Manawatū voices. It inspires a sense of identity and connection to place and inspires facility users through contemporary voices. The text is presented in Te Reo Māori and English.
